Okay, so way back in March I wrote this post after dabbling a little bit in digi scrapbooking. I have had lots of emails in response to that original post, and would like to finally answer a few questions. I use Photoshop CS3 for all my photo editing and digital scrapbooking. PS can be overwhelming at first, but that leads me to my next recommendation: take a class. Believe me, you're going to get a lot more out of it, a whole lot sooner if you take the plunge and sign up for Jessica Sprague's "Up and Running" class. It's a great class and you can take it at your own pace, which is great for people like me who often don't have time for it until 11:30 at night. ;-) And to top it off right now she is offering it at 20% off. Here are a few of my recent layouts, some from Jessica's class and some that I designed myself. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to email me or post a question in the comments section at the end of this post. I'd love to hear from you.
Wow, great job on the pages! I'm just starting to get into digital scrapbooking and am trying a demo in Photoshop as well. Do you design your own paper & elements or buy a lot of it or get it free? Do you know any good free sites? Where do you get the pages printed? Do you have any tips for me as a beginner? I'm working on a 12x12 calendar... Do you have any suggestions for me?
ReplyDeleteNo need to design your elements (yet, anyway...) there is SO much free stuff for digi scrapping on the internet, and some great cheap sites for purchasing some really cool elements too. First off, I'll direct you to some of my favorite places for free stuff: check out www.twopeasinabucket.com and in their online scrapbook store they have a "Free" section with lots of cool papers and embellishments. Also, if you do decide to take Jessica's class, there are lots of free goodies in there too ;-)
ReplyDeleteIf you are looking for something specific, you should check out Designer Digitals at www.designerdigitals.com, they have LOTS of cool stuff.
ReplyDeleteI love these layouts Andrea. The first and last ones especially, nice work! I'm looking into getting PS CS3... have you done any storyboards yet, and if so... is PS pretty user-friendly for storyboards?
