Hockey Camp
From August 5-8 Lucas had hockey camp at our local rink. It was quite an experience for him.. The first day when I brought him he was SO excited. I got him dressed, strapped his helmet and skates on.
Never in my life have I seen such a happy kid. Once he got on the ice however, his tune changed a bit. "Mom where's my hockey stick?" he cried out. "How come I'm slipping all the time?" "I can't do this, I just keep falling."
How could I expect him to realize that he had to work at this? That he wasn't going to skate circles around everyone and score goals the way he had envisioned in his three year old mind yesterday. Hockey camp turned out to be much different for him than he ever expected. But it turned out to be what I think was a very important life lesson for Lucas. By day 3 he was up and staying up.
Such a huge improvement from the snow angels he was doing on day 1. And by the last day, yes he did in fact score a goal. :)

Russ and Rachel
Today I was organizing and making a CD of pictures for Russ and Rachel (sister of Jordan, groom from this wedding I did in August), and this photo caught my eye. Seriously, what a gorgeous family. And their son and daughter were so cooperative and so adorable! Thanks again John, Doreen and the "S" clan for the opportunity to share in this very special day, I will forever have fond memories from shooting my first wedding.

Presley
This week I had the opportunity to take photos of brand new baby girl Presley. This little gal was amazing, so cooperative. She let us mold her and move her with not even a squeak. You may remember this post of maternity/family photos I shot awhile back for the same family. It was a treat to take both their maternity and newborn photos. Enjoy!
